The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Republic of Ghana, Hon. Emelia Arthur, paid a five (5) working-day visit to Israel during which she participated in “The Sea The Future Summit”, and joined a high-level panel discussion on sustainable fisheries, marine innovation, and global blue food security. The Minister highlighted Ghana’s efforts to build a modern, climate-resilient, and environmentally responsible aquaculture sector to strengthen food security, create jobs, and promote inclusive economic growth.
During the visit, the Minister held bilateral meetings with her Israeli counterpart and other key stakeholders, resulting in agreements to pursue further consultations, coordinated scoping missions, and the development of a cooperation framework in fisheries and aquaculture. She also conducted site visits to leading aquaculture facilities, including Dagon Aquaculture at Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael and Pure Blue Fish in Binyamin, where she observed advanced fish-farming technologies and innovations relevant to the sector.
